Non-club members are invited to drop by to enjoy appetizers, meet club members, and learn a little about its programs to benefit women and girls.
Soroptimist International of Clear Lake is part of a global organization that works to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
Locally, the club raises funds in support of programs that benefit women and girls.
Each year the club gives cash awards to women working to improve their education, girls and young women who volunteer in their communities and women who serve as role models in the community.
At the Aug. 22 social, members Lisa Morrow and Olga Martin Steele will make a brief presentation featuring the club’s work to help stop human trafficking – a partnership with Lake Family Resources.
Club President Tina Scott encouraged anyone interested in programs dedicated to the empowerment of women and girls to drop by.
“We meet every other month in the evening at different locations around the lake to have a little fun and meet new people who share our passion for supporting Lake County women and girls,” she said.
