CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Redwood Empire Food Bank will hold a special Monday food giveaway to help those impacted by the recent public safety power shutoffs.

The giveaway will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Redbud Park, 14655 Lakeshore Drive.

Those who need food assistance are urged to start lining up at 8:30 a.m. at the giveaway site, which will be located near the Youth Center.

“Anybody in need can come,” said Yolanda Avelar of the Redwood Empire Food Bank.

“A lot of people lost their food” in the shutoffs, Avelar said.

Avelar said the giveaway will take place on a first-come, first-served basis.

Everyone is asked to bring their own bags.

Avelar said they are hoping to serve at least 350 people.
