KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Evans and Sutherland Planetarium show "Mystery of the Christmas Star" will be featured at the Taylor Observatory on Saturday, Nov 30, at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
The show tells the story of the Christmas Star with a fascinating astronomical slant.
Earlier in the evening, watch the special alignment of Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and the Moon low in the southwest just after dark. Jupiter (the lowest) is at an altitude of 7 degrees at 5:30 p.m.
"Mystery" will be hosted by Tom Schlief and other Friends of Taylor Observatory staff.
Admission is $6; there is no charge to Lake County K-12 students.
It's a great show for your out-of-town Thanksgiving guests.
If weather is clear, count on some telescope viewing as well. The 21-percent illuminated moon sets at 8:30 p.m. Orion will be well-placed over Mount Konocti by about 9 p.m.
