LAKEPORT, Calif. – On Sunday, the Hope Harbor Warming Center received a bountiful Christmas gift from the citizens of Lake County.

Kitty Drennan, Sandy Pogue, Diane Toso and Nicole Andre spearheaded a grassroots movement to gather donations at the Boathouse in Nice for the center.

Bags and bags of winter clothing, warm hats, sleeping bags and other items were heaped high by the end of the afternoon and a total of $160 was collected.

The generous patrons of the Boathouse had a great time that afternoon as Diane Demichele, the owner of the Boathouse, turned the drop-off into a fun and entertaining potluck lunch, with Santa in attendance, cookie decorating and kids activities.

The center thanks the women who made this event possible, the Boathouse, and the generous people of Lake County for their support.
