Community Development Block Grant Mitigation Program overview meeting planned for Jan. 8

NORTH COAST, Calif. – An overview of the Community Development Block Grant Mitigation Program for Lake and Mendocino County residents will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

The meeting will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the County of Mendocino Administration Center, 501 Low Gap Road, Conference Room C, in Ukiah.

The California Department of Housing and Community Development, or HCD, is the grantee of Community Development Block Grant Mitigation Program funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as a result of the October and December 2017 wildfire, mudflow and debris flow disasters.

HCD is working with local governments and organizations to fund high impact programs and activities aimed at reducing future losses from natural disasters.

At this meeting, HCD will discuss proposed mitigation programs, eligibility for the programs, and the timeline for funding.
