This acclaimed documentary examines one of the greatest present threats to American democracy: the influence of untraceable corporate money on our elections and elected officials.

The film takes viewers to Montana – a frontline in the fight to preserve fair elections nationwide – to follow a local journalist working to expose the real-life impacts of the 2013 U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision.

The film was short-listed for Best Documentary Feature at the 2019 Academy Awards and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize in Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival.

Enjoy some snacks, camaraderie and a spirited discussion. Here’s an opportunity to learn, engage and advocate.

Second Saturday Cinema has been organized by the Programs Committee of the Lake County Democratic Party.

Associate membership in the Lake County Democratic Party is open to registered Democrats and dues are $30 annually.
