KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Celebrate Valentine's evening at the Taylor Observatory with a special presentation in the newly-upgraded Norton Planetarium.
“Love Stories in the Night Sky” will be presented from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14.
Experience the romantic tales of Artemis and Orion, Perseus and Andromeda, the Chinese myth of Vega and Altair.
Friends of Taylor and Lake County Office of Education have funded an $18,000 upgrade to the Norton Planetarium projector, now in full operation under the direction of Taylor's new resident astronomer, Angelo Parisi. The talk will be given in the newly upgraded planetarium.
Planetarium shows begin at 8 and 9 p.m.
After the show take a tour of the night sky and, under hopefully clear skies, enjoy stunning views through the observatory’s telescopes.
Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children 14 and under. Additional donations to Friends of Taylor Observatory will be gratefully accepted.
The event is sponsored by Friends of Taylor Observation-Norton Planetarium, Lake County Office of Education and www.DarkSkyEvents.com.
Friends of Taylor is a funding organization for Taylor's efforts to maintain the highest possible level of capability at the Taylor Observatory/Science Center.
