Caltrans plans major roadwork through March 19

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– Core Drilling from one-half mile west of Blue Lake Motel to east of Mid Lake Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Ben’s Truck & Equipment has been granted an encroachment permit for incident clean-up and repairs from Cora Drive to Verna Way on Friday, March 13. Lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Tree work from Route 53 south to the Colusa County Line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 29

– Tree work from the Napa County Line to Route 53 North Lower Lake will continue One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Utility work from Route 281 to Route 175 Southeast on Sunday, March 15. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Drainage work from Hill Road Undercrossing to Lucerne Undercrossing on Friday, March 13. Southbound lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor delays.

Highway 53

– Tree work from 40th Avenue to Route 20 in Clearlake will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Tree work from Salmina Drive to Adam Springs Road will begin Monday, March 16. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Tree work from Arroyo Vista Road to Santa Clara Street will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– Guardrail work from Curley Lane to Iverson Avenue, Point Arena will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted an encroachment permit for tree work from Stonebord Road to Caspar Lake Road beginning on Monday, March 16. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– AT&T has been granted an encroachment permit for utility work from Hazel Street to Oak Street on Friday, March 13. Northbound lane closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor delays.

– Emergency work at Blue Slide Gulch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Shoulder work near Private Road will occur on Friday, March 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor delays.

– Slide removal two miles west of Three Chop Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Grinding and paving work at Center Street will begin on Wednesday, March 18. Alternating lane closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor delays.

– Guardrail work at the East Perkins Street Overcrossing will occur on Friday, March 13. Southbound lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor delays.

– Guardrail work north of Presswood Overhead Bridge will occur on Friday, March 13. Southbound lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor delays.

– Emergency work from Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– PG&E has been granted an encroachment permit for tree work from Steele and Davidson Lane to Harwood Road beginning on Friday, March 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Emergency work near the Dora Creek Bridge will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 162

– PG&E has been granted an encroachment permit for tree work from Outlet Creek Bridge to South Eel River Bridge beginning on Monday, March 16. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Caltrans wishes to advise motorists to drive with caution when approaching work areas and to be prepared to stop at traffic control stations.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes unless noted otherwise above.
