LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — The Lake County Land Trust will hold its annual dinner on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Boatique Winery, 8255 Red Hills Road in Kelseyville.

The public is warmly invited to attend. Admission to the event is $110 per person and sponsorships, with special benefits, are available.

Starting at 5 p.m. the event is a fun time to gather with friends and enjoy an evening of good fellowship, food, and information. Dinner includes Boatique wines and a delicious meal by Rosie Cooks.

A silent auction features items like boat rides, local art, pottery and more.

The evening will include honoring of the Land Trust’s “Supporter of the Year,” and a keynote presentation by Sharron Zoller, Lake County resident and former state president of California Women For Agriculture.

Theme for the event is “Conserving Nature Together,” and Zoller will touch on the many ways that local agriculture and the Land Trust share the same goals of preserving our open space and rural lifestyle.

To purchase tickets to the dinner, visit www.lakecountylandtrust.org and click on the link on the home page or mail payment to P.O. Box 1017, Lakeport, CA 95453. Sponsorship opportunities are also explained on the website. Deadline to assure participation is Oct. 16.

The trust currently owns over 500 acres, holds conservation easements on 88 acres, and oversees management of the Boggs Lake Preserve in a partnership with the Nature Conservancy. Through the years the Land Trust has also facilitated the protection of the Black Forest near Buckingham and elk and mountain lion habitat in eastern Lake County.

The most recent acquisition by the Land Trust is the Kuulanapo Preserve, consisting of the Wright and Keithly family ranches. The acquisitions were made separately but have been combined to create one 300 acre nature preserve which includes over a half mile of virtually untouched lake frontage on Clear Lake.

The Land Trust also operates a small nature center at its Rodman Preserve where children’s programs and community art and nature events have been held. This preserve is open every Saturday weekly throughout the year.

Through all of its efforts the Lake County Land Trust has relied on the support of local residents, second-home owners and businesses here. LCLT board members look forward to gathering with supporters and friends to celebrate working together to preserve special areas of Lake County and Clear Lake.

The Lake County Land Trust is a charitable nonprofit organization that protects the unique and valuable wildlife habitats of Lake County and Clear Lake.
