Lakeport Rotary to host crab feed fundraiser Feb. 15

LAKEPORT, Calif. — The Rotary Club of Lakeport will hold a crab feed fundraising event at the Lake County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Feb. 15.

After years of COVID-inspired “drive through” crab feeds, this year’s event will be an old-fashioned in-person crab feed with all the fixins, served in the fairground’s Little Theater building.

Everything kicks off at 5 p.m.

To liven things up this year there will be several rounds of “seahorse” races. Cheer on your favorite ride and make donations to qualify for some cool prizes if your mount wins. “Crabby” the crab will be in attendance, as well, to add to the fun.

The menu includes all you can eat cracked crab, shrimp, pasta, salad and bread. And there will be plenty of melted butter, lemon and seafood sauce.

Several sponsorship levels are being offered:

• Crustacean Champion for $7,500. The sponsor receives two tables for eight, a filmed commercial with Crabby at your business, complimentary racing vouchers, complimentary bottles of wine for the tables and media press releases.
• SEA-Biscuit for $2,500. The sponsor receives one table for eight, media advertisements, banners at the event and complimentary wine.
• SEAcretariat for $1,000. The sponsor receives one table for eight and media advertisements.
• The Winning Claw for $500. The sponsor receives reserved seating for four people and media advertisements.

Individual tickets are available for $75 and can be purchased online by going to www.lakeportrotary.org.

All proceeds from the event go to support the many local and international projects undertaken by the Rotary Club of Lakeport.
