Caltrans plans major roadwork through Jan. 16

NORTH‌‌ ‌‌COAST, ‌‌ ‌‌Calif. — Caltrans‌‌ ‌‌reports‌‌ ‌‌that‌‌ ‌‌the‌‌ ‌‌following‌‌ ‌‌road‌‌ ‌‌projects‌‌ ‌‌will‌‌ ‌‌be‌‌ ‌‌taking‌‌ ‌‌place‌‌ ‌‌‌around‌‌ ‌‌the‌‌ ‌‌North‌‌ ‌‌Coast‌‌ ‌‌during‌‌ ‌‌the‌‌ ‌‌coming‌‌ ‌‌week. ‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌

Included‌‌ ‌‌are‌‌ ‌‌Mendocino‌‌ ‌‌County‌‌ ‌‌projects‌‌ ‌‌that‌‌ ‌‌may‌‌ ‌‌impact‌‌ ‌‌Lake‌‌ ‌‌County‌‌ ‌‌commuters, as well as work in Del Norte and Humboldt counties.

Caltrans‌‌ ‌‌advises‌‌ ‌‌motorists‌‌ ‌‌to‌‌ ‌‌drive‌‌ ‌‌with‌‌ ‌‌caution‌‌ ‌‌when‌‌ ‌‌approaching‌‌ ‌‌work‌‌ ‌‌areas‌‌ ‌‌and‌‌ ‌‌to‌‌ ‌‌be‌‌ prepared‌‌ ‌‌to‌‌ ‌‌stop‌‌ ‌‌at‌‌ ‌‌traffic‌‌ ‌‌control‌‌ ‌‌stations. ‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌

The‌‌ ‌‌Caltrans‌‌ ‌‌Traffic‌‌ ‌‌Operations‌‌ ‌‌Office‌‌ ‌‌has‌‌ ‌‌reviewed‌‌ ‌‌each‌‌ ‌‌project‌‌ ‌‌and‌‌ ‌‌determined‌‌ ‌‌that‌‌ ‌‌individual‌‌ ‌‌‌project‌‌ ‌‌delays‌‌ ‌‌are‌‌ ‌‌expected‌‌ ‌‌to‌‌ ‌‌be‌‌ ‌‌less‌‌ ‌‌than‌‌ ‌‌the‌‌ ‌‌statewide‌‌ ‌‌policy‌‌ ‌‌maximum‌‌ ‌‌of‌‌ ‌‌30‌‌ ‌‌minutes‌‌ ‌‌unless‌‌ ‌‌‌ ‌

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

Route 20 (1.1/2.4) – Construction work from Blue Lakes Road to Irvine Avenue will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute delays. LC#P20KA

Route 20 (16.1/16.4) – Culvert work in Lucerne will occur east of Bartlett Springs Road on Friday, January 10. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#S20AA

Route 20 (21) – Utility work will occur near Pepperwood Grove at Bruner Drive on Tuesday, January 14. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P20AA

Highway 29

Route 29 (5/5.8) – Road work in Middletown from west of Central Park Road to Route 175 will begin on Monday, January 13. Lane closures will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns. LC#C29HA

Route 29 (6.8/9.2) – Survey work in Middletown from Grange Road to the Lupiyoma Creek Bridge 14-15 will conclude on Friday, January 10. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists should expect minor slowdowns in the area. LC#P29BA

Highway 175

Route 175 (8.2/10.2) – Utility work near Jct Route 29 will begin on Tuesday, January 14. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P175BA

Route 175 (9.1) – Tree work near Jct Route 29 will occur on Friday, January 17. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P175BA

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

Route 1 (11.2/11.7) – Road work in Gallaway at the Schooner Gulch Bridge 10-111 continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1DA

Route 1 (31.1/31.6) – Bridge work at the Elk Creek Bridge 10-120 continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1WA

Route 1 (51.4/51.9) – Bridge work north of Mendocino at the Jack Peters Creek Bridge 01-43484 from Lansing Street to south of Road 500D. One-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#C1VA

Route 1 (65/72.3) – Tree work at various locations from Cleone at Mill Creek Drive to Newport will occur on Monday and Tuesday, January 13-14. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1BA

Route 1 (75.4/76.1) – Emergency work south of Westport from the Blues Beach Trailhead to the Overlook will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 30-minute delays. LC#C1TA

Route 1 (82.2/82.9) – Road work from the Portal Rock Vista Point to the Devonte Vista Point continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C1BB

Highway 101

U.S. 101 (33.7/43.2) – Road work south of Willits from Route 20 to Uva Drive in Redwood Valley will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#M101QD

U.S. 101 (48.9/55.2) – Guardrail work south of the North Willits Railroad Crossing to Big Trails Drive will begin on Friday, January 10. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 20-minute delays. LC#M101QD

U.S. 101 (59.3/59.9) – Bridge work south of Laytonville at Jct Route 162 continues. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute delays. LC#C101SB

U.S. 101 (60.1/78.7) – Landscape work will occur at various locations from north of River Dale Motel Drive to south of Rattlesnake Summit on Friday, January 10. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#M101GA

Highway 162

Route 162 (7.9/8.4) – Bridge work at the Eel River Bridge 10-236 continues. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays. LC#C162HA

Route 162 (14.7/15.9) – Paving work from west of the Middle Fork Eel River Bridge 10-252 to east of Laytonville Dos Rios Road will occur on Friday, January 10. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#C162EA

Highway 253

Route 253 (1.7/2.3) – Road work near Boonville at Bald Hills Ranch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect and motorists should anticipate up to 10-minute delays. LC#C253DA

Highway 271

Route 271 (5/7.3) – Landscape work at various locations from north of the Big Dann Creek Bridge 10-30 to Jct Route 1 in Leggett will begin on Monday, January 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#M271BA

DEL NORTE COUNTY

Highway 101

U.S. 101 (35.8/36.5) – Construction at the Dr. Fine Bridge near Smith River will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C101WA

Highway 199

U.S. 199 (8.1/8.6) – Emergency work west of Gasquet will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect minor traffic slowdowns. LC#T199CA

HUMBOLDT COUNTY

Highway 36

Route 36 (11/11.5) – Bridge work near Pamplin Grove will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA

Route 36 (17/20.2) – Guardrail work from Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park to the Van Duzen River Bridge 4-98 will conclude on Friday, January 10. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute delays. LC#C36BA

Route 36 (25.3/25.4) – Bridge work east of Bridgeville will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C36UA and C36DA

Highway 96

Route 96 (.01/.07) – Utility work in Willow Creek from Jct Route 299 to Mayfair Street will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect minor traffic slowdowns. LC#P96BA

Highway 101

U.S. 101 (82.7) – Construction work at the Indianola Cutoff will continue. Southbound 101 access is currently unavailable due to a median closure. Southbound motorists should choose an alternate route. LC#C101FD

Highway 169

Route 169 (32.4/32.6) – Shoulder work west of Lower Weitchpec School Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C169BA

Highway 254

Route 254 (3.2/4.2) – Slipout repair between Hodges Road and Fish Creek Road will continue. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C254JA

Route 254 (4.3/4.8) – Construction work between Fish Creek Road and Maple Hills Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect 5-minute delays. LC#C254DA

Route 254 (18.4/19.1) – There is a full closure from Lum Street to north of Marin Garden Club Grove due to emergency work. Motorists should choose an alternate route. LC#T254AA

Highway 255

Route 255 (2/8.4) – Utility work from New Navy Base Road to J Street in Arcata will continue. One-way traffic will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P255CA

Highway 299

Route 299 (11/11.4) – Construction about 11 miles from U.S. 101 will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C299FA

Route 299 (29.6/30.6) – Utility work between Mason Gulch and Cedar Creek Road will begin on Wednesday, January 15. One-way traffic control will be in effect overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Travelers should expect 10-minute delays. LC#P299BA

Route 299 (31.4/33.1) - Construction work west of the East Fork Campground will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. LC#C299LA

Route 299 (35.5/36.2) – Utility work at the Willow Creek Bridge 4-163 will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Travelers should expect 10-minute delays. LC#P299BA

Route 299 (38.7/38.8) – Utility work from Jct Route 96 to Willow Road will conclude on Friday, January 10. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should expect up to 5-minute delays. LC#P299BA

Route 299 (40.3/40.5) – Utility work near Willow Creek will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Travelers should expect 10-minute delays. LC#P299BA
