LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Ahead of the special Nov. 4 statewide election, the Lake County Registrar of Voters Office has issued an update for new residents and others who need to re-register to vote.
New residents of Lake County, and registered voters who have moved to a new address, changed their mailing address within the County or have changed their name need to register or re-register to vote no later than Oct. 20.
If your mailing address has changed, official voting materials cannot be forwarded. Residents may personally call the Registrar’s Office to verify if their voter registration information is correct and up to date.
Voter registration deadline: Oct. 20
If you:
• Just moved to Lake County;
• Changed your name or address;
You must register or update your voter info by Oct. 20.
How to register
• Online: registertovote.ca.gov
• In person: 325 N. Forbes St., Lakeport
• By mail: Must be postmarked by Oct. 20
Missed the deadline? You can still vote by:
• Visiting the Registrar’s Office (Oct. 21 to Nov. 4)
• Or going to your assigned polling place on Election Day before 8 p.m.
Please be aware that pursuant to Section 2101 of the California Elections Code: "A person entitled to register to vote shall be a United States citizen, a resident of California, not imprisoned for the conviction of a felony, and at least 18 years of age at the time of the next election.”
