Burton: Loustalot exemplifies community service

As a retired local fire chief and District 3 resident, I am pleased to support Denise Loustalot for county supervisor.

Denise is a true servant leader who has dedicated many years of service to the needs of our local communities. I especially like her commitment to improving our county’s public warning system to better protect resident’s safety in the event of a wildfire.

In her role as East Region Town Hall chair, she has been an active and informed advocate for the concerns of District 3 residents. She will bring this same hands-on approach to the job of county supervisor.

On June 5, I will be voting for Denise Loustalot for county supervisor.

Jordan: Slate mailer is deceptive

Voters, do not be deceived by Steve Brown's most recent mailer.

Candidate Brown paid for a spot on a slate mailer.

He has not been supported by the longstanding Democrats as he suggests. The California Democratic Party and the Lake County Democratic Central Committee have not endorsed Mr. Brown.

The Democratic Party of Lake County endorsed Susan Krones for district attorney.

For a candidate who continuously questions the ethics of the current district attorney and his staff, his deceptive mailer only calls into question his own ethics.

Tom Jordan is chair of the Lake County Democratic Central Committee Elections Committee. He lives in Lakeport, Calif.

Kishineff: More jobs, environmental clean up needed

I want to know why there has been no big jobs package or big infrastructure bill out of our Congress in as long as I can remember.

This isn't just on Congressman Thompson, but he certainly has had the ability and the platform to write these bills and to try to get them passed.

We need to be pushing more jobs in housing and environmental clean up, instead of more refinery and cement factory jobs.

With the automation of more and more jobs, and more and more jobs being combined so companies can "downsize" and save a buck, we're going to need a federal jobs guarantee or else a guaranteed universal income. That is the future anyway.

One hundred percent automation means 100-percent unemployment.

The editor is free to print my email address so I can answer questions. Thank you.

McSorley: Loustalot best choice for supervisor

After listening to and observing both candidates for District 3 supervisor, I am supporting East Region Town Hall Chairman Denise Loustalot for county supervisor.

Denise Loustalot has proven effective leadership skills during her past service as a mayor and councilwoman in Clearklake. She has also been a strong advocate for the residents of Spring Valley and Clearlake Oaks on the ERTH Board. She is a very successful small business owner in Lake County, and a fine person.

North Lake County has many unmet needs that require action. Based on her past experience, I believe that Denise will deliver decisive results for our local communities. That’s why I am encouraging all District 3 residents to join with me in voting for Denise Loustalot for supervisor on June 5.
