Knight and Joseph: Grateful thanks to Terrace Middle School for food donation

The emergency food closet of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lakeport, was recently blessed to overflowing by 30 bags of food donated by Terrace Middle School students (www.terrace.lake.k12.ca.us) .

St. John’s parish struggles to keep up with the needs of those who are hungry in our community, and can’t thank enough the Terrace Middle School students and staff who collected the much-needed food.

Special appreciation goes to eighth grade student Brice Beare for chairing the food drive as part of Terrace Middle School’s California Junior Scholarship Federation (CJSF). CJSF emphasizes high standards of scholarship and community service for California junior high school students.

We also could not have been more pleased with the lovely card and pictures created by the students of Mrs. Ver Linden and Mrs. Dunn. Thank you each and every one!

With much gratefulness for these fine young people, we wish everyone a blessed Christmas season!

Please join us Christmas Eve for a joyous 10:30 p.m. candlelight service at St. John’s, 1190 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.

Barbara Knight is St. John’s senior warden and Fr. Leo M. Joseph, O.S.F., is St. John’s parish priest.
