Fulton: Groups made July 4 festivities possible

Thank you to all who participated in the Lakeport Annual Lighted Boat Parade. The First Place winners in each category are as follows: Youth, Sea Scout Ship Konocti Phoenix; Business, Ben Perry Remodeling; Family, Megs Happer and Steve Hibbert with a salute to George Washington; and Organization, Lakeport Sea Scout Ship Whisper.

The thousands along the shore of Lakeport, from Rumsey Bay to Willow Point Resort and points south, thoroughly enjoyed the parade as it passed in review.

The Lakeport Regional Chamber wishes to also extend thanks to the many people who donated to the fireworks “Add A Dollar” campaign to assist with paying for the fireworks display.

The following merchants generously accepted donations for the fireworks: Lakeview Market, Northshore Sentry Market, The Cottage, Renee's, Park Place, Bigg's 155, Linda's Hallmark, Cafe Victoria, Kelseyville Lumber, Piedmont Lumber, Shari's Secret Garden, The Kitchen Gallery, AGM Property Management and Bruno's Shop Smart.

Lakeport Regional Chamber Volunteer Bill Knoll delivered and picked up the donation containers for the campaign. Thanks to City of Light and Bicoastal Media for coordinating the music for the display; to the City of Lakeport Police and Public Works Departments for all their assistance. Our appreciation to the Lakeport Fire District as well.

It takes a great many people to present community programs without whom the Lakeport Regional Chamber could not continue these programs.

Melissa Fulton is chief executive officer of the Lakeport Regional Chamber of Commerce.
