Brandon: La Faver backs smart growth policies

I'm supporting Susanne La Faver for District 1 supervisor because she has the vision, commitment and expertise needed to move Lake County forward without sacrificing the special values that make this such a wonderful place to live right now. Unlike her opponent, who wants to inflate Middletown's Community Growth Boundaries onto hundreds of acres of prime agricultural soil, and whose donor list is packed with developers and large landowners looking for zoning changes that would benefit them personally, La Faver backs smart growth policies that will let us grow and prosper while maintaining our small town charm and rural way of life.

She provided an example of her leadership at the most recent Board of Supervisors meeting, when she took time from her crowded campaign schedule not only to attend the discussion of an ordinance regulating the cultivation of genetically engineered crops in Lake County, but to speak most cogently in favor of this measure (which passed!) from the perspective of a marketing professional, demonstrating the skills and perspective that our community needs to go forward into a brighter, more sustainable future.

For the future of the South County, and for the county as a whole, please join me in voting for Susanne La Faver on Nov. 4.
