Diehl-Darms: Thompson and staff go extra mile for constituents

I think it is important for the public to know that we have an elected federal government figure who truly believes that his job as an elected official is to represent the people who elected him.

People often ask why Congressman Mike Thompson continues to be re-elected.

First, he understands that people elected him to listen to them and represent the majority to the best of his ability.

Second, he trains his staff to be respectful and impresses on them that their job is to assist the people of his district to the best of their ability.

And, third, he has access to federal governmental connections that members of the public do not have access to and he and his staff are willing to go the extra mile to get results.

I personally have had issues with the IRS and Postal Service (not our local Post Offices) that I was unable to resolve on my own. I called Congressman Thompson’s office and his staff took over. Believe me, they did not stop until they received a satisfactory answer.

I have referred others to Mike Thompson’s office for federal government-related issues and they have received the same results.

In this time of political unrest, where politicians seem to be too busy to deal one-on-one with their constituents, Congressman Mike Thompson and his staff are of the days that seem long gone, the days when the people mattered!

Linda Diehl-Darms lives in Middletown, California.
