
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Jodie Irene Nylander, age 42, passed away peacefully with her parents by her side at Saint Helena Hospital, Calif., on March 12, 2018.
She was born in Renton, Wash., on March 4, 1976, to Gary and Jerri Nylander.
In 1983, the family left Washington and moved to Clearlake Oaks, Calif., where she spent the majority of her childhood and adult life.
Jodie graduated from Lower Lake High School in 1993 and went on to attend Sierra College in Rocklin, Calif.
At the age of 10, Jodie began working at the historic Nylander’s Red and White Grocery Store in Clearlake Oaks. After her father’s retirement in 2012, she became manager of her family’s store.
Jodie had many wonderful qualities; however, she will be remembered most for her kind heart and her warm smile.
Jodie loved life, specifically music, the ocean, her family and friends. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her, and though she is gone, she will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her parents, Gary and Jerri Nylander; her sister, Jamie Nylander Klingler (Chad Bogart); nieces, Haley and Katelyn Klingler; paternal grandmother, Maxine (Dean) Thompson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary in Lakeport. Interment will follow at Lower Lake Cemetery in Lower Lake. Afterwards, a celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge in Clearlake Oaks.
