Roland William Shaul, born to Wilfred and Virginia Shaul on Sept. 13, 1934, in Lower Lake, California, peacefully departed on April 25, 2024, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, following complications from a fall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Vidas, and his previous wife of 21 years, Carol Shaul.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Nell Nassoy Shaul, along with his children: Kathleen Conners, Aaron Shaul, Laura Shaul, Karrie Shaul and Eric Shaul. Additionally, he leaves behind three stepchildren: Brian Hirscher, Carolyn Hough and Shane Nassoy, as well as 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A lifelong resident of Lake County, California, Roland was a distinguished entrepreneur and businessman. Over his 89 years, he established a variety of enterprises, including a Case Tractor dealership, a construction company and a logging operation.

However, his most cherished accomplishment was founding Allied Information Networks, a pioneering communication and software firm.

As a longtime member of the Derby Hat Club, Roland enjoyed joining his buddies twice a year for a long weekend of fishing and storytelling.

Roland's love for adventure extended to the skies, where he soared as a passionate pilot, owning and piloting several aircraft throughout his lifetime, notably a powered glider that he and Nell flew back from Florida after its purchase.

Amidst his professional achievements, Roland was a pillar of his community, renowned for his warmth and generosity. He and Nell found joy in gathering with loved ones, often enjoying rounds of golf together.

A celebration of Roland’s rich life will be held on June 29 at Buckingham Golf Course in Kelseyville, California. All friends and family are warmly invited to attend and honor his memory.

Memorials may be made directly to The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, www.michaeljfox.org.
