
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Rosemary Catherine Watson, affectionately known by all as “Grammie,” passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 19, 2024, at UC Davis Medical Center.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1936, to Edward and Annie Cop, in San Francisco, California, where she grew up.
She met the love of her life, Lee Watson, and they married on Dec. 20, 1952, they were married
for 50 years prior to Lee’s passing.
They moved to Clearlake in 1962 to raise their family in a small town.
Lee and Rosemary had four children: Linda Brooks (Dave), Rich Watson (Karen), Cathy Long (Gary) and Leanne Watson.
They bought and ran Shaw’s Resort for many years. Lee and Rosemary opened Modern Mobile homes and then Modern RV. This business continued in the family for many years.
Rosemary worked for the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for many years. She also worked as a hairdresser at her in-home salon.
She loved traveling with her friends through the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge, where they were avid members. She enjoyed camping until her late 70s.
Grammie loved going on cruises, her favorite being to Hawaii. She also enjoyed visiting with her friends, going to lunch, and having fun at the casino. She was a very fun, loving, and outgoing person.
She will be incredibly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Grammie had seven grandchildren: David Brooks (Stacy), Kim Pesonen (Mike), Rich Watson
(Lorena), Chris Long (Charleen), Melissa Campbell (Ryan), Chelsea Long and Becki Moresi.
Grammie was so proud to have 16 great-grandchildren, who she loved more than anything.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Watson; son Rich and daughter-in-law Karen Watson; and son-in-law Gary Long.
There will be a graveside service Friday, June 14, at 10 a.m. at the Lower Lake Cemetery.
There will be a reception following the service at Fultz Family Vineyards in Lower Lake; all who wish to attend are welcome to come to the service and reception.
