
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Vickie Fahnholz, 98, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Friday, Oct. 11, 2024.
She was born of Portuguese immigrants on March 4, 1926, in Redwood City, California.
She graduated Sonoma Valley Union High School in 1944, and married Ernie that same year, winning her over with his teasing nature.
She worked in a prune packing plant and as a waitress in a Chinese restaurant in Napa, before moving to Lakeport in 1960.
She was a familiar face in Thrifty Food Market for years then as Floor Lady at Scott’s Valley Fruit Exchange.
She was active in the Lakeport Fire Department Ladies’ “Fireflies,” organizing the candy sales for scholarships.
She’s been a member of Lake County Bible Fellowship for over 60 years, even singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School.
Vickie is survived by her children, Stan (Sheila) Fahnholz and Linda (Shelby) Dunlap; grandchildren, Shawna Fahnholz, Rich Dunlap, Sean Fahnholz and Ryan Dunlap; five great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and many friends that seemed like family.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Lake County Bible Fellowship, 727 N. Forbes St. in Lakeport with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. There will be light refreshments afterwards, and then internment at Hartley Cemetery.
