LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Benjamen Jesus Vega (Ben) 30, of Clearlake, California, was welcomed home by the Lord on Sept. 28, 2025.
Born May 17, 1995, Ben lived a life filled with challenges, but only wanted the people he loved to see the simple man he was. Ben’s love and kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Ben had a rare gift, he made sure every person felt truly seen and heard without judgment when crossing paths with him. With his gentle spirit and generous heart, he was the kind of man who would stop to pick flowers just to brighten someone’s day, although Ben didn’t have much he would give his last to someone less fortunate, just to do the right thing.
He never let a conversation end without saying “I love you” to those he cherished, and he said it often, because he meant it deeply, Ben truly wore his heart on his sleeve. A proud “momma’s boy,” Ben loved his mother Angela with all his heart, and his love for his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews was boundless and unbreakable.
He found joy in the little things like family gatherings, fishing and time spent outdoors under open skies. Ben didn’t need much to be happy being surrounded by the people he loved was more than enough.
Ben is survived by his loving mother, Angela; his sisters, Maria, Eva, Alicia, Jasmine and Elizabeth; his brothers, Martin, Gabriel, Raymond, Jose, Jorge, Luie, Robert, Jesus and Cruz; and many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends who will carry his memory.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary, and brother, Lalo who welcomed him home.
A simple man with an enormous heart, Benjamen taught us all how to love better and be better. His light will never fade in the hearts of those who knew him. Ben’s passing is a big loss to his family who miss him endlessly.
Rest easy, Benny. We love you.
