Elem Indian Colony Tribal Elder Sarah Brown Garcia made her journey home on Dec. 13, 2025, surrounded by her family at her home in Santa Rosa, California.

Sarah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to travel with her family, ensuring that she left them with memories that would last a lifetime.

She honored her culture by participating in her traditional dancing and passing down traditions to her children and grandchildren to ensure that these traditions are never lost.

Sarah was a source of love and warmth to everyone who knew her. Her kindness, generosity and gentle nature touched the lives of so many. She had a love for her tribal community and served her tribe as secretary treasurer for over 20 years. Sarah's love for the people led her to pursue a career in nursing.

Sarah is survived by her, husband, Agustin Garcia; her children, Sarita Garcia, Agustin Garcia, Leon Garcia, Emilia Bonds, Lena Dale and Jordan Garcia; her grandchildren, Mateo Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Nevaeh Garcia, Ethan Bonds, Kailani Dale, Leilani Dale and Agustin Garcia Jr; her son, and daughter in-laws, Jericca Perez, Eric Bonds, Melvin Dale and Angelica Garcia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa Hopper Brown and Calvin Brown; her siblings, Mable Fourkiller, Stephen Brown, Anthony Brown, Nathan Brown and Carter Brown.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Her memory will live on in our hearts.
