LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — John Robert Alderman joined his heavenly family on Dec. 20, 2025, after fighting complications of heart disease and diabetes.
He was a pizza aficionado from his Straw Hat Pizza days in Santa Rosa, where his parents had their business.
His wife sometimes called him Fred Flinstone because he worked in the Syar batch plant on Todd Road in Santa Rosa for many years and was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 3.
He took care of his Chevy Sedan Delivery and his ’96 Harley Davidson, and he enjoyed listening to his iTunes. Las Vegas was his favorite destination in his RV.
If you needed help with a project, he was more than happy to help any way he could.
He spent many summers at the Skylark Shores Resort parting with the McGovern and Gaskin families before moving to Lake County in 2004.
John is survived by his wife of 34 years, Denise; his son, Ryan, and wife Allison; his grandchildren, Logan and Willow. David Barone and his wife, Lee Webster (grandchildren Andre, Dean, and Alex); and Danine Barone Pelt and husband Paul (grandchildren Damon and Dillyn).
He will miss hanging out with his cousins, Kathy Mashburn, Ginger Parino, Jennifer Niemi, Britney Unciano and their families.
John is joining his parents, Dick and Dorothy; brother, Rick; Uncle Tom; Aunt Virginia; and Uncle Frank in heaven.
Celebration of life will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA of Lake County, 8025 Highway 29, Kelseyville, CA 95451.
