LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Raymond C. Ray, 72, entered into rest on Jan. 9, 2019.

He was born Dec. 25, 1946, in Lakeport.

Raymond was an enrolled Tribal Elder of the Big Valley Band of Pomo Indians. He was a very talented artist who loved to draw and use chalk in his work. He was a friend to many who remember him fondly.

Ray is survived by his longtime loving partner, Barbara Spoelman; siblings, Ben G. Ray Jr. (Bea), Conrad Velez, Peggy Flores, Gregory Velez (Kathy) and Lola Velez; his son, Raymond Ray Jr.; brother-in-law Frank Velasquez; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Martin Ray; father, Ben Ray; sister, Loretta Velasquez; brother, Rick Velez; and sister-in-law Mona Velez.

All are welcome to attend a memorial service to be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, Lakeport, on Friday, Jan. 18, at 3:30 p.m., which will be followed by a potluck at the Big Valley Rancheria Community Center/Gymnasium, 1002 Osprey Court, Lakeport.

David Poe

Jan. 12, 1925 - Jan. 10, 2019

Born in Covelo, California, David was a World War II veteran.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Colleen, and daughter, Marilyn.

He leaves behind his siblings and children, John, Audrey, Virgil, Bernadine, Rosalie and Eleanor.

He raised his family in Santa Rosa for 30 years before moving to Robinson Rancheria, where he watched his family grow to include three generations of grandchildren.

He will be loved and missed by many more.

Visitation begins Monday, Jan. 14, at noon at Robinson Rancheria gym until the funeral service on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. Graveside military funeral honors will be at Robinson Rancheria Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
