He was born Oct. 30, 1919, in Washington, D.C.
He is survived by three of four children: Linda S. Gaumont (63), Richard L. Moynihan (62), Sarah E. Barreda (60). He is preceded in death by Sylvia L. Moynihan.
He was a loving father, grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of 14, all of which adored him.
C.P. joined the United States Army when he was 19 years old and was then honorably discharged.
After his service, he joined the United State Navy and proudly served his country for 30 years until he retired in 1968.
After his retirement from the US Navy, he worked for the FMC Co., wiring Bradley tanks for more than 10 years.
He was a proud, brilliant man who enriched people’s lives from his selflessness and knowledge. He was an amazing storyteller.
The world is a shade darker without him, but he would not want anyone to shed a tear for his passing, but instead to celebrate the full life he lived.
Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, we will always love and miss you. See ya later alligator!
He was a member of the American Legion Konocti Post 437 for over 30 years and was a Master Mason in the Clear Lake Callayomi Masonic Lodge No. 183 F&AM for 31 years.
A Post Everlasting ceremony will be held at the American Legion Konocti Post 437 on Saturday, Feb. 21, beginning at 11 a.m.
Please come to honor and celebrate C.P.’s life. Address is: 14770 Austin Road, Clearlake. This will be a potluck, so please bring a dish to share with C.P.’s family and friends.
