LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lurine Malone passed away on Sept. 3, 2014, in Lakeport. She was 93 years old.
Lurine was born Sept. 3, 1921, to David Seaton and Easterbell Johnson in Troup, Texas.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Troup.
On June 30, 1938, she married her junior high school sweetheart Leverse Malone. In the early 1940s she and her family moved from Troup, Texas, to San Francisco, Calif.
She was an Eastern Star for more than 40 years and a member of the NAACP for more than 25 years.
Lurine is survived by her two daughters, Donna Malone (Harold) Spiller and Angela Malone; stepdaughter, Veronica Malone; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Idell Malone; son-in-law, Ray Calhoun; and nine nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Leverse Malone; her son, Ben David Malone in 2006; her oldest daughter, Ledell Calhoun in 2008; three sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
She was loved by so many and will be missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary on Monday, Sept. 15, from 9 to 11 a.m., with a funeral service to take place at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Upper Lake Cemetery following the service.

LOWER LAKE, Calif. – Mildred Conklin, age 95, entered into rest Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at her home in Lower Lake.
A native of Arkansas and formerly of San Francisco, she lived in Lake County for 46 years.
Mildred is survived by many nieces and nephews.
“Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.”

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Marilyn D. Miller entered into rest on Sunday, Sept. 7, at her home in Clearlake.
Marilyn was born on April 7, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, also spending time in Long Beach, Calif., before coming to Lake County, where she spent over 30 years.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Mary Jenkins (Richard) of Arizona. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Corine Ybarra, Desiree Ybarra and Shelly Yeo, with five great-grandchildren, Lola Yeo, Ann Yeo, Kyra Ybarra, Emma Ybarra, and Nolan Chieffo.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Stewart Miller.
There will be a visitation at Jones and Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel in Lower Lake on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.
Catholic funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 12, at Jones and Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel in Lower Lake starting at 11 a.m., followed by a committal service at the Lower Lake Cemetery.
