George “Bob” Neilson passed away July 31, 2012, at the age of 71.
He went peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Bob grew up in Brisbane, Calif., and married his high school sweetheart, Diane, after graduation.
While working on his first career as an ornamental iron fabricator, he served eight years in the National Guard.
Bob then followed his father-in-law into the elevator trade and became an elevator mechanic. After 32 years he retired and moved to Lakeport.
Bob was a member of the Elks Lodge, SIRS and Old Pharts and enjoyed his retirement years to the fullest.
George Bob lived a full life and participated in many activities including racing motorcycles for 20 years of his life in which he placed at the top of his class almost very race. He was a certified scuba diver and after retirement his passion became golf.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane; daughter, Dona (Teresa); son, Dan (Lisa); two grandchildren, Brad and Alyssa; and sisters, Betty (George) McLeod and Helen (Norbert) Turley.
A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Lakeport Elks Lodge #2704, 3775 Lakeshore Blvd., Lakeport.

Katherine “Kathy” A. Colborn passed peacefully after a short illness, leaving this world for a better place.
Kathy was born in Iowa but lived most of her life in Santa Rosa.
She moved to Lake County in 1966 with her then boyfriend, Gary Colborn. Kathy and Gary were married in 2000 in Kelseyville.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Gary; children, Tony, Diane, Danny and Shelly; brothers, Frank and Jerry; and sisters, Kaye, Shirley and Janet.
A memorial will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 11, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, Lakeport, Calif.
A potluck will follow at the Elks Lodge #2704, 3775 Lakeshore Blvd., Lakeport.

Diane Lovi, born March 14, 1935, in Walnut Creek, Calif., passed peacefully surrounded by family July 28, 2012, at the age of 77 after a battle with lung cancer.
She joins “Gene” Lovi, her loving husband of 55 years.
She was mother of three daughters, Deena (Wes) Brenton, Margo (Jeff) Vertrees and Renee (Bruce) Teverbaugh.
Diane came to Lake County in 1946. She graduated from Clear Lake Union High School with the class of 1952. She was active in Junior Horseman Association, BPW and Lake County Blood Bank.
Diane was very proud and involved in raising her seven grandchildren, Byron and Britni English, Ashley and Adam Brenton, Dylan and Brooke Teverbaugh, and John Vertrees.
She also is survived by her brother Bill (Gaye) Deschamps; niece, Barbara (David) Jolliffe; and nephew, Michael (Christy) Deschamps.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion “Frenchy” and Irene Deschamps.
Entertaining with her famous fettuccine, dancing, sewing and cheering on her grandchildren were just a few of her loves.
She worked in the savings and loan industry before her greatest promotion to grandmother.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 N. High St., Lakeport.
