Linda Darlene Brooks, born July 28, 1948, passed peacefully in her sleep July 24, 2012, at the age of 63.
She was preceded in death by her parents Geraldine and Jack Ozanne.
She is survived by her brother, Hal Ozanne; daughter, Monica Forkes; and son Vernon Brooks; as well as by her grandchildren, Ronny, Mikayla, Gregory, Breanna and Dustin; and her great-grandchildren, Gary and Rashelle.
Linda grew up in Ukiah, Calif. and eventually settled in Lake County.
She divided her time between her Lucerne home and in Pillsbury with her companion Buzz, where they happily spent time with friends, going fishing and simply enjoying the mountain atmosphere.
A family gathering will be held.

Wynema Sue Sloan passed away at home surrounded by her family on July 24, 2012.
Sue was born in Tallequah, Oklahoma, on July 24, 1946, and was an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation.
In 1949 Sue, her siblings and parents moved to California. She attended Ukiah High School.
She then met and married Gene William Sloan. During their 21 years of marriage, they had five daughters – Melody, Tammy, Renee, Deana and Tonya. Later she moved to Ukiah and met Angel and together they had a son, Angel Miller.
Sue was active in her children’s schools affairs and their sport activities. Sue was proud of her Native American Heritage and was active in her children’s cultural education.
Sue worked for Laytonville Unified School District and In-Home Supportive Services for many years.
Sue was an avid softball player for the Laytonville community softball team. Many people remember her as a real jokester who could beat most at the game. Others remember her as loving and caring woman who took in many and guided them, but what she is remembered most for is the tremendous amount of pride she had for children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sue was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Rachel Miller, her daughters Renee Marlo Sloan and Deana Jean Campbell, her siblings Bob Miller and Louise Burgess and her grandchildren, Aaron Campbell and Gene Gonzalez.
Sue is survived by her children, Melody Sloan, Tammy Sloan (Ediberto), Tonya Rodriguez (Sergio) and Angel Miller.
She leaves behind her siblings, Lucille Mayfield, Dallas Miller, Udell Miller, Anita Jenkins and Jim Miller; grandchildren, Tasheena Sloan, Mark Britton, Zack Britton, Ricky Britton, Art Gonzalez, Arica Lopez, Jennifer Sloan, Angela Campbell, Magdelena and Giovanni Rodriguez; and great-grandchildren Elijah and Amya Hopkins, Isaiah Campbell and Kaleb Betts.
A viewing will be held at 305 Creekside Drive (Cahto Rancheria) at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, and services will be on Friday, July 27, 2012, at Harwood Hall, 44000 Willis Ave., Laytonville beginning at 11 a.m. with burial at the Cahto Cemetery immediately after.
A memorial dinner and celebration of Sue’s life will be held at Harwood Hall following the burial.

Laurence A. “Larry” Macomber of Kelseyville, Calif., left this world July 6, 2012.
Larry was born in Boston, Mass., June 12, 1941, to Hampton Macomber and Ellen Way. He was raised by his grandparents, John Sr. and Isabel Way.
His parents and grandparents preceded him in death.
Due to Larry’s Cerebral Palsy, Larry’s life was a challenge that he took on with a spirit that amazed his friends and fellow workers. He enjoyed the outdoors and became part of nature both in his work and play.
Larry worked for numerous employers as an accomplished landscaper with many years at Marine World, at which he rose to lead landscaper. His most recent position was with the US Forestry Service of Upper Lake from which he retired a few months ago.
During his life Larry enjoyed riding horses. While in Vallejo he became involved with an organization called Up With Horses, which was a training and recreation program for kids with disabilities. Larry was a volunteer leader there for a number of years.
Larry’s other passion was working on old cars with his cousins, Allan and Phil.
Larry’s struggles in life took him down but not out. Larry spent some time at Hill Top Recovery.
Having found his way into recovery around 1992 he had a new family that he has enjoyed and has enjoyed him for many years. Larry was also helped by People Services in Lakeport.
Through these life changes Larry was able to acquire a mobile home, own his own truck and live independently ever since.
A memorial service will be at noon Saturday, July 28, at the United Methodist Church of Clearlake, 14521 Pearl Ave. A potluck will follow.
