Bernie was born July 30, 1932 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 5, 2007.
He was an awesome husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant after 23 years after he had seen the world. He was a much loved resident of Clearlake since 1977. He was active in all community projects in Clearlake.
His recognitions include awards for humanitarian of the year, citizen of the year, past president of the Chamber of Commerce. He was known as a relentless volunteer who served his community without hesitation. Bernie, with his wife Jackie, spent much of his free time traveling with the Elk's RV Club.
He loved and treasured each day of his life, he loved his family, his friends, his business and Clearlake. It was the only place he found that he could enjoy all four seasons and not have to shovel snow. Always a stand up guy with a strong hand and a friendly smile, he will be missed by all that knew him.
