Freeda Maye Gorbet Duncan Krukoff ‘Nannie’
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Freeda was born Aug. 24, 1927, and crossed over to the spirit world April 15, 2022, peacefully at her residence with her loved ones surrounding her.
Freeda is survived by her daughter, Colleen Pete and son-in-law, Gary Pete (Round Valley); daughter-in-law, Darlene Robidoux (Yurok); son, Douglas Duncan and daughter-in-law, Susan Duncan; and son, Kyle Crandell and daughter-in-law Jackie Crandell.
Freeda is predeceased by her husband, Henry Krukoff (Aleut Corporation); mother, Hazel Gorbet (Robinson Rancheria) and father, George Gorbet (Greenville Rancheria); three sisters, Colleen Poe, Mildred Duncan and Evelyn Peake; and two sons, Dwayne Duncan and LaVerne Duncan.
Freeda entered this world under a walnut tree at Old Robinson on Mockingbird Lane. She was proud to be a member of Robinson Rancheria and to work at her tribal casino (22 years) and she loved playing bingo and the slot machines.
She was an avid news follower for local and political news. She enjoyed being informed before going to the ballot box.
Freeda was blessed and loved 20 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 31 great-great-grandchildren and all of her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by so many she touched, loved, cared for and befriended.
Funeral service was held at Robinson Rancheria Gymnasium on Saturday, April 23. She was laid to rest at Robinson Rancheria Cemetery.

“Harry” was born Jan. 31, 1947, in Charlotte, North Carolina to Harrison and Mary Lois Walter.
He attended Patrick Henry Elementary School, Everett Junior High School and Galileo High School in San Francisco.
Harry graduated from Willits High School in 1965 and later the College of Arts & Crafts in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. in July 1965 and served one tour of combat duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in July 1971.
Harry was self-employed for 30 years with Metal Arts Enterprises in San Jose, and Morgan Hill, California, where he produced handmade custom knives, jewelry and designed and built custom parts and machines for tech companies in Silicon Valley.
He loved to read and cook. He loved the ocean. Harry was a Sea Scout, a gymnast, champion wrestler, and a cheerleader. He will be missed.
Harry is survived by his brothers, Mark Walter (Kathy) of Liberty, South Carolina and Sam Walter (Kim) of Lakeport, California, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Harrison Walter and Mary Lois Walter.
The family will have a private memorial service.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — Selena "Nina" Jack was born June 10, 1974, and she began her journey home to Creator on April 9, 2022. She was 47 years old.
Selena was predeceased by her mother, Wilma E. Gomez; father, Valentino P. Jack; brother, Charles P. Jack; maternal grandparents, Lewis and Ramona Gomez; paternal grandparents, Hudson and Annie Jack; and niece, Nikia Gomez.
She is survived by her daughter, Angelica Rovetti; son, Tino Rovetti; aunt, Carol Gomez; sisters, Valerie Jack, Carla Rodriguez and Janine Williams; brothers, Michael Gomez, Philip Jack, Kelly Jack and Jeremiah Jack; nephews, Xavier Jack, Joshua Jack, Jacob Nevarez, Matthew Smith, Michael Smith, Steven Morgan, Jeremiah Jack Jr., Julian Bernard, Andrew Gomez, Michael B. Gomez, Nico Cazarez, Anthony Driskell, Joseph Driskell, Richie Gomez, Mark McCloud III and Martin Smith; nieces, Erica Nevarez, Adrienne Nevarez, Vanessa Gomez, Alyssa Gomez, Feather Morgan, Mary Morgan, Savanna Jack, Marlene Jack, Mona Gomez, Jessica Alvarez and Markie McCloud; great-nephews, Aiden Jack, Nakai Jack, Dyani Jack, Salvador Castellanos III and Fabian Perez; great-nieces, Aiyanna Jack, Alina Fred and Nikia Fred; and her childhood BFF, Lynda Tuscano.
Selena comes from a family of 10 siblings. She lived her entire life on Big Valley Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians where she was an enrolled member of the tribe. She worked in numerous positions at the tribe's different enterprises including Konocti Vista Casino and Big Valley Rancheria Smoke Shop.
Selena was a fairly private person, but she loved her family and friends, especially her great grand nieces and nephews like her own grandbabies.
She had the biggest heart and was generous and giving to those around her. Her smile was infectious and one couldn't help but feel good when in her company. So many people loved her. She will be greatly missed.
She will be remembered, for a long time to come, by those that loved her. She will never be forgotten. We love you, Selena.
Traditional Native American visitation will be held at her home starting on Friday, April 15, at 11 a.m. until noon on Monday, April 18.
