LUCERNE – A sock hop dance and fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center in Lucerne.

The dance begins at 5 p.m.

Dance to the music of the 1950s and 1960s. An award will be given for the best 1950s outfit.

Dinner also will be served.

The cost is $12.

The center is located on 10th and Country Club.

KELSEYVILLE – The Girl Scouts of Northern California will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church Repair Fund on Saturday, Oct. 17.


The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the church, located at 5340 Third St. in Kelseyville.


In September, the church experienced a flood affecting the floor in the much-used Friendship Hall.


Girl Scouts from the North Lake area want to give back to the church and will be raising money to support the repairs via the spaghetti dinner.


The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $7,000.


Kelseyville Presbyterian church has over the years graciously made their space available to Girl Scouts and several other community organizations for many meetings, parties and fundraisers. Girl Scouts rely heavily on the use of their facility.


Tickets for the event are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 4 through 11, and children under 3 eat free.


Tickets can be purchased in Kelseyville at Darlings Vitamin Connection, 3965 Main St. or in Lakeport at Shari's Secret Garden, 240 N. Main St.

LAKEPORT – The University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program in Lake County is pleased to invite all interested individuals to an informational meeting regarding the 2010 Master Gardener Training Class.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, at the Mendo Lake Credit Union meeting room, located in the Willow Tree Shopping Center at 963 11th St., Lakeport. The meeting room is wheelchair accessible.
 
The meeting will provide an overview of the UCCE Master Gardener Program, as well as some of the expectations of being a UC Master Gardener volunteer.

The information will be presented by current Master Gardener volunteers and the Master Gardener Program advisor, Rachel Elkins.

The program will be followed by a question and answer period. Refreshments will be served.

CLEARLAKE – There are still some reservations available for the Lake County Land Trust Annual Dinner this Saturday at the Clearlake Community/Senior Center at 3245 Bowers Lane in Clearlake.


The public is cordially invited to attend this fun event that will include music starting at 6 p.m. with the Blue Collar Band, dinner at 7 p.m. and a short program.


A terrific silent auction is also part of the event – here is your chance to bid on everything from beautiful local art work to a four person work party made up of Land Trust board members.


Tickets are $50 per person and include wine with dinner. Catering the dinner is the Blue Wing Saloon and Cafe of Upper Lake. Wine is being donated by Lake County Winery Assoc. member wineries including: Ceago Vinegarden, Tulip Hill, Wildhurst, Six Sigma, Steele Wine, and the Kelseyville Wine Co. Sponsors are The Livermore Family Ranch and The Lake County Winegrape Commission.

KELSEYVILLE – Come out and support the Kelseyville High School Girls Softball Team by having pancakes this Sunday, Oct. 11.


The Kelseyville Lions Club have a pancake breakfast to benefit the team from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., or until the event is sold out.


The cost is $6 for pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee.


The Kelseyville Lions Club is located at 4335 Sylar Lane.
