HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE – Chic Le Chef, located in the Hidden Valley Hardester's Plaza, will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from this Monday night's take-out dinner to local Christmas charity Spirit of the Season.

Through the volunteer efforts of Spirit of the Season, toys and holiday food baskets are distributed to the less fortunate in the Middletown, Cobb and Hidden Valley Lake areas.

The chefs at Chic Le Chef have created a special autumn menu for the Nov. 9 event. Pork loin, roasted sweet potatoes, green beans with carmalized shallots, dinner rolls and pumpkin pie will be available for take-out.

The pork loin will feature a newly-released mustard rub by "Wine County Chef" Harold Umbretti. The rub will be available for purchase that evening with 10 percent of the proceeds going toward Spirit of the Season.

Dinners are $8 per person, may be ordered in any quantity and may be picked up between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., though they must be ordered in advance. Pumpkin pie is available for $2.50 per slice or $12 for a whole pie.

Place your dinner order by calling 707-987-9664 or by visiting www.chiclechef.com .

LAKE COUNTY – Clear Lake Trowel and Trellis Garden Club (CLTTGC) is now taking orders for fresh greenery holiday wreaths.

Wreaths are made of a variety of fresh greens on a 12-inch wire frame with a large wired ribbon bow (red, green, gold, or plaid).

The wreaths cost $20 each, prepaid, with orders due by Nov. 17.

A three-day workshop will be held on Dec. 2, 3 and 4 to create the wreaths. To place your orders, contact President Jo Jameson at 707-263-4039 or any garden club member.

The profits from this fundraiser enable the garden club to present two $1,000 scholarships to local high school students. The 2008-09 scholarships were given to Maille McCallister and Hannah Johnson.

For information about the garden club, visit Web site www.clttgc.org .
