KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Sons of Norway Vikings of the Lake Lodge No. 6-166 will hold a Danish Heritage and Culture Night on Wednesday, April 20.


The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Galilee Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 8860 Soda Bay Road.


They will serve Frkadellar (meat cakes), Rødkal (cabbage), Kartofler (potatoes) and Gulroder (carrots). The meal costs $7, with dessert to follow the program.


Club President Carl Ingvoldstad will present the program, which starts at 7 p.m., on the history of Denmark.

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – A community member who found a small dog wandering in the Kelseyville area is seeking its owners.


The female Shih Tzu was found Monday evening in the area of the four-way stop where Merritt Road turns into Gaddy Lane near the Baptist Church, according to Laura Hershey, who found the dog.


The dog was wearing a rhinestone collar but no tags, Hershey said.


The owners of the dog are asked to call Hershey at 707-849-3730.

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Clear Lake Trowel & Trellis Garden Club will hold a general meeting on Tuesday, April 19.


The meeting will be held at the Scotts Valley Women's Club House, 2298 Hendricks Road, Lakeport.


The board meeting begins at 11 a.m., social time starts at noon, flower roll call takes place at 12:30 p.m. and the general meeting takes place at 1 p.m.


Kate Frey will present the program on sustainable gardening.


The club meets at noon on the third Tuesday of the month, except in July and August.

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – The regular monthly meeting of Lake County Democratic Central Committee will take place on Thursday, April 7.


The meeting will be called to order by Chair Becky Curry at 7 p.m. at the Clearlake Oaks United Methodist Church Community Hall, 12487 The Plaza.


Agenda items include discussion of the upcoming Democratic State Convention and the numerous resolutions to be voted on by Lake County’s eight delegates. The convention begins on Friday, April 29, at the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento.


The committee will hear reports from representatives for Congressman Mike Thompson, Assemblyman Wes Chesbro and state Sen. Noreen Evans.


Also on the agenda will be discussion on the committee's participation in the state party voter registration drive and plans for another successful registering of new voters in time for the May special election.


Curry encourages all Democrats to consider getting involved in Democratic Party activities.


Meetings are open to the public and committee membership is open to all registered Democrats.


The Lake County Democratic Central Committee is the official governing body of the Democratic Party in Lake County.
