LAKEPORT – The Kiwanis Club of Lakeport has announced their 2010 scholarship program.
A total of $6,000 will be awarded to deserving students in Lake County.
Five high schools participating in this competition are Clear Lake High School in Lakeport, Natural High School in Lakeport, Kelseyville High School in Kelseyville, Donaldson High School in Kelseyville, and Upper Lake High School in Upper Lake.
Mendocino Community College students living in Lake County are also invited to participate in this program.
The award amounts begin with the five most improved high school sophomore awards at $100 each and the recipients will be selected by their principals/counselors.
There are five $1,000 awards to five high school graduating seniors intent on attending college or vocational training and one $500 scholarship for a Mendocino Community College student.
All graduating seniors and Mendocino Community College student winners will be selected by the Lakeport Kiwanis Scholarship Committee.
