Carl

The end of the grading period is here, and Barbara is working even harder to make sure everyone’s grades are ready for them. Not only is the grading period coming to an end, it was also the week of the Cabaret!

The fundraiser was on Saturday, March 8. A great many students volunteered to serve and perform for this event. The performing students included André Ari, Lavonne Pattee, Atlee Erickson, Cheyenne Taylor, Cody Oudeman, Jenna Ortega, Jah-Brela Parker, Jamila Parker, Courtney Monttiel, Amanda Conley, Sina Radley, Bryan Layne, Marquice Lamar, David Ochoa, Steven Negrete and Paige Savante.

Teachers also participated in performances, and even a Carlé graduate, Cy Passley. There were a great variety of performances including singing, instrumentals, dancing, drama skits and rap music as well. The culinary class made a delicious meal for all the guests.

We also honored a group of people that are very important to everyone at Carlé. We call these people “Guardian Angels” and they are citizens of Clearlake that help out kids that have hard lives for no other reason than to be kind. We gave them a table at the Cabaret and made each of them an award.

The Guardian Angels that Lavonne Pattee designed awards for were Tana Mulyca, Jim Heintz, Sally Colcord, Donna Smith, Tariane Crise, as well as Joel and Flora Moore.

On Feb. 27, women from an advance leadership seminar at High Valley Ranch came to help our school. In thanks for this service, Pegasus Productions, made 81 thank yous for each of the women that worked that day. On March 3 Ashley Boyer presented each of her portfolio, and on March 4 Chris Grant presented his portfolio.

All the events in the past week are what made this one of the most exciting grading period conclusions of the year. Thank you for reading, and have a great week!

Atlee Erickson is a junior at Carlé High School.
