LAKEPORT, Calif. – Sutter Lakeside Hospital is proud to announce its partnership with nationally-renowned radiology group, California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates Inc.
CAIMA, which was founded in 1982, has grown to more than 60 highly trained radiologists who will bring their expertise to Sutter Lakeside Hospital.
Lake County will join CAIMA as its eighth division. CAIMA’s hub is in San Francisco, and its radiologists also serve Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center.
Dr. Vivek Reddy, who has served at Sutter Lakeside Hospital for 11 years, has joined CAIMA and will continue to serve full-time at Sutter Lakeside Hospital, while other CAIMA radiologists will provide support for both general and specialty imaging interpretation.
“We are glad to welcome Dr. Reddy into CAIMA,” said CAIMA Board Member Christopher Kagay, MD, Chairman of CPMC. “Working together via Sutter’s advanced teleradiology system, we can supplement an exceptional local team with national experts in imaging of orthopedic, brain and spine, pulmonary, abdominal, pelvic and pediatric diseases. We are thrilled to be joining the community in Lake County.”
Radiologists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries through x-ray, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and more.
In addition to graduation from an accredited medical school, radiologists complete a residency of at least four years in specialties such as radiation safety and protection, quality of imaging, and interpretation of exams, according the American College of Radiology.
CAIMA radiologists will provide knowledge in interventional procedures such as pain management, musculoskeletal imaging, cancer imaging, pediatric imaging and breast imaging.
“This partnership is incredibly beneficial for the community,” said Siri Nelson, Chief Administrative Officer, Sutter Lakeside Hospital. “Patients will continue to receive top care with the added benefit of highly specialized radiologists’ input, without leaving the county. It’s an exciting, easy way to bring world class care home to our patients.”
