The Cristallago DEIR was prepared to analyze the potential environmental impacts from the development of a Planned Development mixed-use community, with its main features consisting of 650 single family residential units, 325 resort units, 18-hole “Jack Nicklaus Signature” golf course, 25,000-sf clubhouse, community activity center, vista spa, restaurant, conference facility, and nature preserve. The project proposes maintaining 576 acres of open space, of which 366 acres is proposed to be dedicated in perpetuity as a nature preserve. Organic olive tree plantings would be used at the entryways, as well as for buffering the residential areas from the golf course and throughout the site as landscaping. These plantings would be used to produce Cristallago brand Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The site is in the foothills east of the Mayacamas Mountain range within County of Lake, 2.5 miles north of the City of Lakeport, west of State Highway 29, and 4 miles southwest of the Town of Upper Lake. The site consists of 12 parcels comprising a total of 862 acres.
