Park activities continue throughout winter season

CLEAR LAKE STATE PARK – The Clear Lake State Park Interpretive Association will host activities at the Clear Lake State Park in November and December.


The visitor center will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7. There will be no auditorium presentation.


The center also will be open those same hours on Saturday, Dec. 5. At At 1:30 p.m. “Hooked on Hummingbirds” will be shown in the auditorium. The movie will offer 53 minutes of explosive hummingbird secrets. These jewels will brighten any winter day.


The park also will host its first Saturday wonderful winter nature walks.


Throughout November and December meet at 8:30 a.m. at the visitor center ramp. Rain cancels all walks.


On Saturday, Nov. 7, Susie Kaplar will lead a family-oriented walk. Glenn Smith will lead the Dec. 5 walk focusing on the “wonders of winter.”


Walt Lyon will lead the walk on Jan. 2 along the Indian Natural Trail; meet at 8:30 a.m. at the entrance kiosk.


There is no park entrance fee for visitor center and scheduled programs.

 

The boat ramp and part of the Kelsey Creek campground will remain open during the winter season.


Clear Lake State Park is located at 5300 Soda Bay Road, Kelseyville.
