HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE – The HVL Men's Niners Golf Club held a sweeps competition on June 17.

The results were:

• First flight: Kevin Martin finished on top with low net 33, while Rick Canevari, Cliff Hughes and Bill Helt tied for second with 35.

• Second flight: Bill Surber was first at 33, Juergen Haller had 34 and Jim Cary, 36.

• Third flight: Wayne Baker and Bob Costello tied for first with 35, and Dick Kistner had 36.

• Fourth flight: Sterling Bright was first at 33, while Ron Hallman had 35 and Bill Lyon, 36.

Dave Mann landed closest to the pin on both par three greens.

Chip-ins were scored by Phil Tyler, Carl Dennis and Joe Whitbeck.

Fifty-three men participated in the day's event.
