Rodman walks will start at 9 a.m.

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The weekly Saturday morning walks at the Rodman Preserve near Upper Lake will start at 9 a.m. beginning on Saturday, Sept. 1.

The 9 a.m. start date will last through May.

The Rodman Preserve is owned and operated by the Lake County Land Trust, a private nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of open space and natural habitats in Lake County.

The preserve is located at 6350 Westlake Road, Upper Lake.

Take the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff off of Highway 29, between Lakeport and Upper Lake. Turn east onto the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff, then left on to Westlake Road. The entry is to the immediate right after turning on to Westlake road. Park at the visitor center where the walks begin.

Remember, the Rodman Preserve is different from the county’s Rodman Slough Park which is further down the Nice-Lucerne Cutoff near the bridge.

The public is welcome. Enjoy an easy walk to view songbirds and other wildlife.
