COBB MOUNTAIN, Calif. – The Friends of Boggs Mountain will offer a nature walk on the interpretive trail Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 9 a.m.
This is an opportunity to get some exercise while you enjoy the outdoors and the wonders of nature.
Led by Darlene Hecomovich the walk will be 2.9 miles, moderately paced and on moderate terrain with some elevation.
During this guided walk, Hecomovich will talk about and identify the flora encountered along the way. Also discussed will be how a tree can be identified not only by its leaves but by its bark as well.
Fall continues to display its colors so come and appreciate the spectacle. The beautiful Mountain Dogwood is just beginning to turn red, the Big Leaf Maple trees are a brilliant yellow but not to be outdone by the Poison Oak which makes the brightest show of all.
Wear sturdy shoes, dress appropriately for weather conditions, and bring water and enthusiasm.
Meet at the parking lot kiosk promptly at 9 a.m.
The forest entrance is located off Highway 175 just two miles north of Cobb Village.
Turn at the blue State Fire Station/Boggs Mountain Forest sign.
