World Tai Chi/Chi Gung Day to be celebrated April 27

LAKEPORT, Calif. – Join Lakeside Wellness Center’s Tai Chi instructor Arch Kottler, along with individuals around the globe, as they celebrate World Tai Chi/Qi Gung Day, Saturday, April 27.

To celebrate this event, Kottler will once again hold a free, outdoor Tai Chi class in the beautiful lawns of the Healing House directly below the Wellness Center, 5196 Hill Road East, Lakeport, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Spectators and Tai Chi enthusiasts are welcome to join in the global health and healing celebration.

Internationally, this event begins in New Zealand and will spread time zone by time zone across the globe, through 60 countries and across six continents.

This creates a “24 hour Healing Wave” to promote calm and worldwide wellness.

Tai Chi and Qi Gung (Chi Kung) are health technologies evolved over thousands of years of research in China, and are growing in popularity worldwide. They are used in hospitals, wellness centers, prisons, schools, and other institutions.

Research has shown that Tai Chi and Qi Gung may reduce anxiety, depression and chronic pain conditions.

These classes boost the immune system, improve respiratory and cardiovascular function, and burn calories.

Both have also been proven valuable to dramatically improve balance, offer powerful stress management tools and slow aspects of the aging process.

When attending the April 27 event at Sutter Lakeside please use right rear lower parking lot and follow signs to the Healing House.

Kottler offers weekly Tai Chi classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the SPMF Lakeside Wellness Center.
