Jackson Demonstration State Forest campgrounds, seasonal roads open

FORT BRAGG, Calif. – Cal Fire's Mendocino Unit has opened Jackson Demonstration State Forest campgrounds and seasonal roads near Fort Bragg for the dry period.  

Big River Campground and Red Tail, South Bend, Wagon, and Teacher’s campgrounds in the Camp One area are closed for construction of new restrooms.  

These campgrounds will reopen as the construction is completed in each area.  

Campers are reminded the fee for camping is $15 per night for single vehicles.

The Trestle Trail is also open for the season.

Users are reminded that sudden oak death has been detected along the trail and precautions should be taken to minimize the spread of the disease.  

Information regarding sudden oak death on Jackson Demonstration State Forest is available at the Cal Fire Fort Bragg office located at 802 North Main St., Fort Bragg, telephone 707-964-5674 during the following hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
