LAKEPORT, Calif. – After a brief holiday hiatus, thanks to Dixon Speedway and Lakeport Speedway, the indoor track at Lakeport Fairgrounds will once again be filled with kart racers of all ages.
From the young learners in the beginner box class to the 500cc power of the seasoned 500 kart drivers, the Lakeport Indoor Kart Series has something for everyone.
Previous races have seen more than 100 karts go around the track.
Racing starts up again Jan. 10 and will be held every weekend through Feb. 21.
The gates open at noon and the racing starts at 2 p.m.
Racing Promoter David Furia loves how racing becomes a whole family sport.
“I just love seeing the kids start out in the beginner box and work their way up to the full sized cars,” he said. “Whole families get together to build the cars, work on the cars and help the racers on race day. Generations of racers together doing what they love. It's just amazing!”
Indoor kart racing is back at the Lakeport Fairgrounds Saturdays, 401 Martin St., Jan. 10 through Feb. 21.
