LAKEPORT – Halloween has hardly passed and the turkeys are still flying free, blissfully unaware of the hosts and hostesses preparing to make them the guests of honor at Thanksgiving feasts across the nation. How can we even begin to think about Christmas?

Yet, Christmas too, is just around the corner and United Christian Parish is pleased to announce they will again be offering free singing instruction for community children this season.

This year UCP will offer more than a winter concert. Children are invited to take part in a Christmas musical! “Shepherds, Sheep and a Savior,” written by Ed Kee, is a delightful journey to the Judean hillside at the time of Christ’s birth where we meet a group of shepherds frustrated with their jobs and sad that everyone else looks down on them. As the story unfolds what begins as an ordinary night turns into an extraordinary adventure!

There is room in the choir for 30 children in hindergarten through eighth grades; additionally there are eight speaking parts.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Participation is free, but there will be a $5 late registration fee for those who have not pre-registered by Nov. 3 at 1 p.m.

Rehearsals begin Wednesday, Nov. 4. Children are invited to arrive as early as 2:45 p.m. if they are coming by school bus. Snacks and homework hall will be provided. Rehearsals begin promptly at 4 p.m. and finish at 5 p.m. Parents are welcome to come and watch the rehearsals, but they are not required to.
