LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County is pleased to announce the hiring of the Rev. Lucy Bunch as consulting minister.

Rev. Bunch is a 2011 graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry and was ordained in the fall of 2012.

Prior to entering the ministry she was an administrator at the University of California, Davis.

She has a bachelor's degree in economics and nutrition from Oregon State University and a master's degree in agricultural economics from Cornell University.

Rev. Bunch has been active with the Unitarian Universalist denomination since 1989.

“We look forward to working with Rev. Lucy, who will guide our growing congregation toward our goal of providing liberal religious services and social justice activities in Lake County,” said Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County Board President Cathy Wilson.

Rev. Bunch’s first service will be Sunday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at the church, located at 3810 Main St. in Kelseyville.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, a potluck to welcome Rev. Bunch will be held at the Kelseyville Senior Center at 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to attend both the potluck and the service to get to know the congregation and the new minister.

Unitarian Universalism is a denomination with Jewish-Christian roots. It has no creed. It affirms the worth of human beings, advocates freedom of belief and the search for advancing truth, and offers a warm, open, supportive community for people who believe that ethical living is the supreme witness of religion.

The Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County was founded in 1999. Services are held every Sunday at the church located at 3810 Main St. in Kelseyville.
