Galilee Lutheran Church celebrates worship center re-dedication

KELSEYVILLE – A festive 10 year re-dedication and celebration of the Galilee Lutheran Church Worship Center and community center was held on June 23.

A lovely brunch was served to the members and guests. A film recounted the beginnings of the center, recalling the groundbreaking, special building plans, fundraising, plus gifts received from the church family and friends, all memories to remember.

The excellent workmanship of Lake County contractor/builder Gerry Anderson and many prayers, hard work and vision did bring smiles and gratitude to committee members.

Property enhancements during the past 10 years continue to be enjoyed. Included are the labyrinth, peace garden and universal peace pole, meditation and serenity gardens and community center improvements and just of late is the church's Web site prepared by Marvin and Lillie Hanson, http://Galileekelseyville.org/special.htm.

Special guests were recalled with appreciation including Bishop Robert Matheis and Sierra Pacific Cynod, Bishop David Mullen and of course Bay Area and local musicians as well as those from other countries able to share their musical talents through Lake County Performing Arts, clown ministry, special worship services with the community and much more.

Balloons and delicious foods prepared by members completed the celebration as we praised God and many blessings. We now can look forward to the church's 50th anniversary in 2015.

Pastor Lynn Freele and the church community invite all to worship with them. Outdoor worship is offered in July, August and September, beginning at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday at 8860 Soda Bay Road, Kelseyville. The church can be reached by phone at 279-4832.
