UU youth raise money for kids in Chad

LAKE COUNTY – “Justice, equity and compassion in all human relations” is one of the guiding principles of Unitarian Universalist congregations.

The children of the UUCLC have been living this lesson as they gather items and raise money for the Adventist Health Medical Mission to Chad, Africa.

As part of the efforts of Dr. Paula Dhanda's office, the children are collecting clothing and toothbrushes and raising funds for the children of Chad.

So far, they have raised $120 from the sale of painted rocks and live plants. On April 5, the children will be selling decorated, blown Easter eggs after the Sunday service at the Kelseyville Senior Center.

For information about the medical mission to Chad, call Dr. Dhanda's office at 279-8733. For information regarding UUCLC's Religious Education program, contact Kerry Braider at 263-7464.

The UUCLC meets Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. at the Kelseyville Senior Center (5245 Third St., behind Studebaker's Coffee Shop).

For more information, visit http://www.uuclc.org or call Carol at 587-4277. Everyone is welcome. Childcare is provided.

The UUCLC is a part of the Unitarian Universalist Association (uua.org). Unitarian Universalisim – with roots from the 16th century Reformation – is a caring, open-minded religious community that encourages each person to seek his or her own spiritual path. Noted Unitarian Universalists include John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Charles Dickens, Clara Barton, Luther Burbank and Albert Schweitzer.
