The purpose of the committee is to address and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors pertaining to issues regarding the use of genetically engineered crops in Lake County.
The qualifications for applicants are as follows:
Conventional farming – two members;
Organic farming – two members;
Environment – two members;
Science – two members;
Agriculture support/services – two members;
Business – one member;
Members at large – two members.
Applicants should have interest and time available for effective county service.
Applications can be obtained from the clerk of the board, Room 113, Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport, or by calling 263-2371.

The event begins at 6 p.m.
The theme this year is “Christmas Carols Come to Life.”
More than 50 parade entrants will travel from Redbud to Austin Park, all decorated in beautiful holiday lights.
The activities will just be getting started as the parade arrives at Austin Park.
Pastor Richard Bean will start the celebration, which will include the tree lighting, carolers, a visit and photo with Santa; the first 100 children to visit Santa will receive a glow necklace.
The Konocti Dance Academy Dancers will perform, and cocoa and cookies will be provided by the Lakeshore Lions and Foods Etc.

Main Street between Gunn and First will be subject to one-way traffic control between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, for construction of pavement rehabilitation and accessibility improvements, according to the Lake County Department of Public Works.
Delays of no more than 20 minutes are to be expected.
Signs will be in place to alert the traveling public of the need to use alternate routes.
Please drive with caution in the area.
